Our School family

Orford School League of Friends (OSLOF)

Here at Orford School we have a PTA which is known as OSLOF (Orford School League of Friends). Our primary role is to raise extra funds for school in order that the children can have the benefit of activities that the school would otherwise be unable to provide. In the past these have included a visitor’s fund so that theatre groups can visit the school, we have bought new garden furniture, funded craft activities and more recently have spent money on replacing books.

We feel this is a fundamental part of a small church primary school and as such, all parents and members of your families are members! We do have a committee that helps the Head teacher spend our money but we need more parents to join and have a say in how the money is spent.

We have a few fundraisers each year. The last one was our Easter Egg Hunt at the castle which was great fun. Our main event during Autumn 2010 was the Christmas Fayre. This raised £696 for the school, a fantastic effort. Well done everyone.

Orford Shrimps run a playgroup in one of our classrooms. The room is self-contained, with its own kitchen and toilet facilities and outdoor play area.

Orford Church

As a church school we have close links with St Bartholomews. The rector, Rev David Murdoch, visits the school regularly to take morning assembly. He is always present at our end of term services and Harvest Festivals which take place in St Bart's.  We have 7 foundation governors; these are governors who themselves are members of the parish churches in our catchemnt area.
