Orford is a thriving small rural school with a positive, friendly atmosphere where the children can develop as learners. They are motivated to enable them to reach their full potential and encouraged to succeed in every aspect of their development, whether that be personal, social, physical or creative.

We have a dedicated staff team here with a strong commitment to high quality learning and teaching, backed by good support for pupils, governors and parents. We are known for our cross curricular approaches to learning, active approach to healthy lifestyles, and a belief that a good school is about developing the whole person, not just chasing SATs results.

As a school we have taken time to share ideas about the sort of school we are and aspire to be. Like all schools we are subjected to great pressures regarding inspections, test results legislation but we believe that we have a clear sense of purpose regarding what we are about and what makes our school special. Our school is about children and their learning; staff and governors are keen to help our children learn as much as they can so that they can live rich and fulfilling lives with distinctive Christian values at the centre of all we do.

Our school has recently formed a partnership with Bawdsey CEVCP School. Mr Green is now headteacher of both schools, sharing his time between the two sites. The partnership has been extremely beneficial to both schools, providing a stable leadership. considerable financial gain, access to better and more expensive resources and joint staff training and support.
